You may have heard the term ‘colour drenching’, but what is it? and why is everyone doing it?

Colour drenching is a design technique that involves saturating a room with a single, dominant colour. Instead of incorporating multiple hues or creating contrasting color schemes, colour drenching emphasizes the power of one shade. The aim is to create a striking, bold and seamless look that stimulates the senses.

If you’re keen to jump on this trend, the simplest way to colour drench a space is by painting the entire room in one shade. That means walls, all woodwork - skirting boards, cornicing, picture rails, dado rails, all of it - plus the ceiling! Contrary to what you may initially think, saturating a room in one colour actually makes a room feel larger due to the seamless continuation of the shade.
For those of you who are feeling extra brave and want to go further, investing in a statement piece of furniture, like a sofa, arm chair or piece of art in the same shade will really step up the look, adding a burst of personality to the room.

So get drenching and add some vibrancy and character to a room in your home!
