Creating a feature wall is a great way to add an injection of colour and personality to a room in your home. A feature wall is a single wall that is designed to stand out from the rest, often through the use of colour, pattern, shapes or textures. Here’s our 3 favourite feature wall ideas:

1. Paint

For a painted feature wall, select a shade that complements the existing color scheme of the room, or you may want to consider using a bold or accent colour that adds drama. Paint the full wall for a statement look, or find the halfway point up the wall, create a line using masking tape and then paint the bottom half of the wall resulting in a more subtle yet creative change to the room.

2. Wallpaper
Creating a wallpaper feature wall is a wonderful way to breathe new life into a room. Whether you're drawn to vibrant and bold designs or prefer a more understated elegance, the right wallpaper can truly transform your space. If you’re going for a punchy wallpaper, we suggest sticking to smaller spaces; the wall behind a bed frame or a fireplace as this will create a focal point without dominating the room.

3. Wood Panelling
We love a wood panelled feature wall as they can be so versatile. For a rustic or farmhouse-inspired ambiance, reclaimed wood panels with their weathered textures can infuse a space with a cosy, lived-in feel. Alternatively, sleek, smooth wood panels in darker finishes can contribute to a more modern, minimalist aesthetic. Wood also has a wonderful ability to enhance the ambiance of a room by introducing texture, depth, and visual interest. The natural grain patterns and variations in wood lend a tactile quality, making the space feel inviting and warm. Panelled feature walls lend themselves well to nooks, and reading spaces.

There are many ways to create a feature wall in your home, but we hope these 3 have given you some new design ideas for your next room makeover, whether it’s a small tweak or a revamp!
